The beautiful and fragrant first flower faded just a few days ago, and there she goes again… Bud number two from the lovely Ms. Phalaenopsis bellina has started to open. And just like the song (apparently inspired by a seductive street walker), she is indeed quite seductive – although I would definitely not call her a streetwalker. This lady [...] Let me introduce you to the lovely Phalaenopsis floresensis. This sweet confection of an orchid looks a little bit like old fashioned vanilla ice cream with a tongue dipped in pink cotton candy. Add that to 3 spikes with 9 flowers in total and you got yourself a party! Granted I bought this one already in [...] After a long courtship since I first discovered the flower spike back in march, the Phalaenopsis bellina flower has finally opened up. And wow!! It was really worth the wait. She makes good by her name and then some. Absolutely gorgeous shape, stunning colors, and very fragrant to boot! I must almost say that it [...] Wow, I thougth the plant I bought about 6 weeks ago was a little too small to bloom, but Look what I found when I was watering… the beginning of a flowerstalk!! Yay! This is very exciting news. I know I have told you guys before, but it was really the Phalaenopsis bellina that [...] I don’t know how it happened, and I can’t remember where, but I fell in love with phal bellina about a year ago and have ever since dreamed about a vivarium for warm growing species.
